Snoogans.

"I mean, I don't think I'm alone in the world in imagining this motion picture may be the worst thought since Greedo shooting first. You know it, but...a Jay and Silent Bob movie? Who'd pay to see that?" [Aside Glance]

Holden (as Kevin Smith mugs at the fourth wall)

When Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) are finally forced to stop hanging out in forepart the Quick-Terminate by a restraining order, they discover that a movie based on the comic that'south based on them, Bluntman and Chronic, is in product. While the duo is shocked to learn that they won't be getting whatsoever money from the flick, they're more horrified that people on the Internet are badmouthing them and the franchise. And then Jay and Silent Bob set out for Hollywood to observe a style to stop the picture show from getting fabricated and so people volition stop talking trash about them on the Internet.

Along the way, they hook upward with a grouping of women who are actually superthieves, but convince Jay and Silent Bob that they're animal activists; the four women convince the duo to interruption into an animal-testing clinic and gratuitous all the animals inside, and use that every bit a lark to break into a diamond vault and rob it blind. From that bespeak, Hilarity Ensues as Jay and Silent Bob run from the constabulary with a stolen orangutan as they keep on their way to Hollywood.

A sequel, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, came out in 2019.

This film contains examples of:

  • Action Girl:
    • The four female thieves Jay and Silent Bob hook up with (Sissy, Missy, Chrissy, and Justice). The offset three are more than similar Dark Action Girls though.
    • Suzanne the orangutan also qualifies.
  • Actor Allusion
    • Marking Hamill has a low-calbongsaber boxing and tells Silent Bob non to "fuck with a Jedi master"... earlier losing his hand. "Non again."
    • Besides for the first fourth dimension ever Mark Hamill performs his famous "Joker Vocalisation" on-camera.
    • Jay as well asks Jason Biggs if he got to third base with "that Russian chick" from American Pie who was played by Shannon Elizabeth, Jay's love involvement here. Many, many other examples.
    • Sissy tells Justice to "bring it on" before they fight.
  • Adam Westing: Ben Affleck, Marking Hamill and a whole slew of other Hollywood personalities poke fun at themselves.
  • Added Alliterative Appeal: "The tenor of Tinseltown is one of terror today..."
  • Advertised Extra: Chris Rock is one of the superlative-billed actors, despite not appearing until the movie's climax.
  • Age Cut: The opening sequence.
  • All Just a Dream: Jay has a rather odd one where he and Silent Bob go picked upwardly by Mystery Inc who drug them and steal their organs.
  • Angry Black Human being: Chris Rock as a movie manager.
  • Animals Lack Attributes: Averted in i deleted scene spoofing Scooby-Doo.

Jay: Scooby's rockin' a stoner boner!

  • Beast Wrongs Group: The four jewel thieves pretend to be crazy creature rights activists in order to provide cover and patsies for a diamond heist. Oddly, the script puts the animal testing lab in Boulder, CO, which is home to many real brute rights groups.
  • Artistic License – Film Production: Miramax Films never had an actual production facility, allow lonely a huge backlot a'la Universal or MGM, just offices.
  • Artistic License – Geography: The editing of the moving picture suggests that Jay and Silent Bob hike from Bedrock, CO to Utah with a stolen monkey. This is a distance of over 300 miles, over the Rocky Mountains.
  • Aside Glance: 3 of them, including 1 from Kevin Smith correct after the quote at the top of this folio.
  • Bad "Bad Acting": Ben Affleck and Matt Damon on the scene of "Good Volition Hunting ii".
  • Becoming the Mask: In universe. Mark Hamill at first hamming it up when he thinks James Vanderbeek (who is really the Real Jay in disguise.) is upstaging him. He is then literally having to try to fight Jay off rather than play it off as All Part of the Show. The result is what you'd expect.
  • Bestiality Is Depraved: Played with: Jay asks Seann William Scott's character if he would, as a sheep (presumably with a human mind), have sex with some other sheep. When he eagerly says he would, Jay throws him out of the van while moving. (Mostly because Jay wanted to be alone with the girls.)
  • Big Bad: Eliza Dushku's grapheme, Sissy, is the leader of a gang of female gem thieves and has Jay and Silent Bob Mistaken for Terrorist following the girls' heist at the diamond exchange.
  • Large Budget Beef-Up: At $22,000,000, this is the most expensive film in The View Askewniverse (the cheapest, of course, beingness Clerks which was 1/1,000th that upkeep). As a result, there's substantially more action and a much more expansive cast.
  • Black Comedy Rape: Implied.

Jason Biggs: It's me! Jason Biggs! I was the piefucker!
Security Guard: Well, in prison, he'll be the pie.

  • Brick Joke:
    • A hitchhiker, towards the starting time of the film, advises Jay and Silent Bob to offer to go down on potential drivers to get rides. It...doesn't work...with the nun... When the ii finally arrive in Hollywood, nearer the tail end of the film, Jay can exist "seen" going downwardly on the hot woman who gave them a lift.
    • Silent Bob gives the monkey the tranquilizer gun. The monkey later uses it to shoot Volition Ferrell'southward character.
    • Jay makes a comment to Justice's friends that hot women shouldn't swallow fast nutrient because it will make them fart. Sure enough, Chrissy farts when they're breaking into a facility, causing the alarms to get off.
  • The Cameo: Plenty of them, including several characters from past View Askewniverse films. Almost notable is the Continuity Cavalcade at the cease.
    • Basically whatever character with the exception of Jay, Bob, the quartet of Activeness Girls, and Willenholly qualifies (most others get about five minutes of screentime, if that).
    • Marker Hamill as Cocknocker, as well Adam Westing as mentioned above. No explanation is needed other than that except for this:

On-screen text: 'HEY KIDS! IT'South Marking HAMILL! (APPLAUSE)'

    • Kevin Smith'due south girl, Harley Quinn Smith, plays the baby version of Silent Bob at the kickoff of the film.
    • Paul Dini
    • George Carlin equally the hitchhiker.
    • 1 that might have slipped nether your radar: the pizza delivery male child who gets it on with the hot female thieves was Joe Quesada, who works for Marvelous Pizza.
  • Casting Burrow: Implied by Chaka, who'south got "more white girls lined up than the outset lifeboat on the Titanic." He attempts to proposition Missy, Sissy and Chrissy before the shootout begins.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Justice and Sissy argue on which manner is better this way.

Justice: A little Venus Fly Trap?

Sissy: I'll counter with Dragon Queen.

  • Cat Fight: played for perfect laughs later on building upwardly both of the film's Action Girls to a ridiculous degree—it degrades for a moment into slaps and hair pulling—to Jay and Silent Bob's please.
  • Glory Paradox: The film swims in this trope.
    • Ben Affleck reprises his part as Holden from Chasing Amy and vocally disses the actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, every bit if Affleck and Holden are two separate and totally unrelated individuals existing in the same universe. Later Affleck and Damon announced as themselves, and they mention the movie Dogma, simply without mentioning that it costarred Jay and Silent Bob.
    • Jason Biggs pops upward as himself, and he mentions his costar Shannon Elizabeth from American Pie—who plays Justice in this film. Seann William Scott is also in the moving picture.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Jay is a walking CFB ("fuck" was the first give-and-take he learned, for Chrissakes!), but other characters get to join in on the fun, too; the discussion is said 248 times over the course of the moving-picture show.

    "Mother-female parent-fuck, mother-female parent-fuck-fuck, motherfuck, motherfuck, noinch-noinch-noinch..."

  • Comedic Sociopathy
  • Conspiracy Theorist: Jay'southward very strange super monkey theory.
    • And don't forget "The C.L.I.T." - co-ordinate to Will Ferrell's character, it'south the "Coalition for Liberation of Afoot Tree-dwellers", and pressure needs to be put on the C.L.I.T.
      • As he mentions, it's a tiny offshoot of the L.A.B.I.A. (Liberate Apes Before Imprisoning Apes) movement.
  • Continuity Column: The unabridged movie qualifies, simply special mention goes to the penultimate scene, which features Dante Hicks, Randal Graves, Willam Black, Steve-Dave Pulasti, Walt the Fanboy, Tricia Jones, Alyssa Jones, Banky Edwards, and Hooper LaMante. All but Dante, Randal and Banky are making their first appearances in the film.
  • Continuity Nod: These seem to be the film's simply purpose:
    • Clerks:

Quick Finish Customer: Are you lot even supposed to be hither today?

      Dante: Don't get me started.

      • Later in the pic, Dante exclaims "I'm non fifty-fifty supposed to be here today!" during Jay's super-monkey Imagine Spot, while having his brain experimented on past super-apes. And the Quick Stop looks exactly the aforementioned every bit in Clerks, correct down to the shoe-shine sign and the aforementioned ancient TV.
      • The number 37 appears twice in the moving-picture show—once when the jewel thieves are celebrating their 37th heist, and again during the shooting of Bluntman and Chronic ("Scene 37, Take ane").
      • When everyone comes out of the premiere of Bluntman & Chronic at the finish, Willam Black (the Scott Mosier version) can be seen looking at the lights lighting the overhang of the theater. He says "That's cute, homo"...exactly as he did when he first appeared in Clerks.
    • Mallrats:

Brodie: Here'due south the pulse. The hand is on the pulse. Here'south your paw, far away from the pulse, shoved straight up your ass! Would you similar a chocolate-covered pretzel?

      • The in a higher place doubles every bit a reference to the get-go episode of Clerks: The Animated Series, in which the wholly ignorant Randal claims to have his "hand on the pulse of the community."
      • Silent Bob is finally able to use the Force later on trying and then hard in Mallrats.
      • Steve-Dave and Walt the Fanboy practise their usual schtick coming out of the Bluntman & Chronic premiere...Steve-Dave asks Walt to stop it.
      • And of course, nigh the unabridged plot is the explanation for why Jay and Silent Bob had an orangutan in The Stinger of Mallrats. (The orangutan herself was named Suzanne, possibly for the sole reason of allowing Smith to use Weezer'southward Suzanne over the ending credits.)
      • Brodie is seen running a comic book store, even though at the cease of Mallrats he went on to host The Tonight Show. At that place is a large poster in the store of a Variety article with the title "Brodie Bolts" indicating that he left the show of his own accord.
    • Chasing Amy:

Holden: It's times like these I really miss dating a lesbian.

      • And later, on the set up of the Bluntman and Chronic picture show, the director tells Banky he's a tracer, not an inker, and that no ane ever had the heart to tell him.
      • The kickoff few bars of the Chasing Amy theme (Dave Pirner'southward "Tube Of Wonderful") plays when Jay and Silent Bob go visit Holden.
      • Holden's first words to Jay and Silent Bob when they show upwards mirrors Jay's line to Holden at the kickoff of his scene in Chasing Amy: "Look at these morose motherfuckers right here. Looks like someone took a shit in their cereal." (This even receives a Lampshade Hanging in a deleted scene; Holden says he'southward been waiting years to deliver the line.)
      • A fan of Bluntman and Chronic is called a "fucking cocknocker" past Banky early in Chasing Amy. Hither, the film adaptation of Bluntman features a villain called the Cocknocker.
      • When Jay is trying to get Silent Bob to say what he's trying to communicate out loud, he says that Silent Bob can 'Give that Amy speech whenever he wants.'
    • Dogma:

Jay: The whole fucking globe'southward against us, man, swear to God!

      • Jay drops a surprisingly subtle one towards the showtime of the film:

"You don't know "Jungle Dearest"? That shit is the mad notes. Written by God Herself and sent down to the greatest band in the globe — The motherfucking Fourth dimension!"

      • Judd Nelson, who had received praise from Jay for his operation in The Breakfast Club as the simply part Jay establish watchable ("that dude was fucking harsh"), appears hither every bit a Utah sheriff.
      • The Buddy Christ from Dogma appears on the dashboard of a nun who gives Jay and Silent Bob a lift.
      • Jay and Silent Bob met the girl gang at a Mooby's.
      • The Stinger shows God in a white void closing a book labeled "View Askewniverse," smile and giggling all the while.
  • Cut His Eye Out with a Spoon: Oh yes.

"All you lot motherfuckers are gonna pay. You lot are the ones who are the ball-lickers. Nosotros're gonna fuck your mothers while y'all watch and cry similar little whiny bitches. One time we get to Hollywood and notice those Miramax fucks who is makin' the picture, we're gonna make 'em eat our shit, and then shit out our shit, and and then consume their shit that'due south made up of our shit that we made 'em eat. And then all you motherfucks are next. Love, Jay and Silent Bob."

  • A Day in the Limelight: After four films of appearing in varying capacities (Those Ii Guys in Clerks, One Scene Wonders in Chasing Amy and major supporting characters in Mallrats and Dogma), Jay and Silent Bob finally get to exist the leads in a flick. The questionability of giving an unabridged movie to Those Two Guys is lampshaded (see page quote).
  • Clarification Cutting: Justice claims that Jay "has manners", whereupon we immediately see Jay screaming obscenities at passersby.

"Yo baby, you ever had your asshole licked by a fat man in an overcoat!?"

    • In the same conversation she claims her reluctance to employ him and Silent Bob as scapegoats is because he'south also innocent. Cut to Jay humping the window.
  • Denser and Wackier: With the over-the-tiptop plot and excessive hijinks, it feels more than like an Adam Sandler moving picture than a Kevin Smith one.
  • Disappointed in Yous: Sissy says this to Justice for going soft and defecting from her squad.
  • Aperture Nod: Jason Biggs, having not read the script, mistakenly refers to Jay equally "Ray". When ABC tried to plough Clerks into a Television receiver prove in the 1990s, Smith tried to prevent it from happening by exploiting his buying of Jay (Silent Bob was not in the pilot). ABC responded by irresolute the character's name to Ray. (The airplane pilot in question was not for Clerks: The Animated Series, which—unlike this pilot—was animated, and kept the bandage of the original picture show as well equally Smith and Mosier on board.)
    • Dante crying out that he "wasn't even supposed to be hither today" while monkeys cutting open his brain echoes the original ending for Clerks where he gets shot in spite of not having supposed to have been there that 24-hour interval.
  • Does Not Like Men: The jewel thieves, except Justice. They conspicuously detest Jay & Silent Bob with a passion.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: During the diamond heist, the aerosal can resembles a can of hair spray, and the girls' sound sensor resembles a nativity control pill case, suggesting the theme of items found in i's bag.
  • Don't Explain the Joke: Smith said the subtitles for Mark Hamill's advent ("APPLAUSE!") came about because test audiences couldn't figure out who he was right abroad, considering he was in costume and of course had aged 18 years since Jedi.
  • Dramatic Irony: Two instances of the comedic variety. In one scene, the titular duo are posing as extras on a moving-picture show set and receive these instructions from the managing director...

Director: Nobody talk. (to Bob) Especially not you.

    • The 2d instance is on the ready of the Bluntman and Chronic film. Run into Continuity Nod above.
  • Dude, Where'due south My Respect?: None of the constabulary enforcements respect Marshall Willenholly in whatever way and sees him as a pathetic joke.
  • Eating the Eye Processed: Irksome motion scenes where Jay is enchanted at the beauty of Justice.
  • Evil Mentor: Justice taught Sissy all her martial arts styles, taunting her to Bring Information technology.
  • Expy: Jon Stewart equally a straight-man news anchor.
  • Fanservice: Eliza Dushku, Ali Larter, Shannon Elizabeth and Jennifer Schwallbach-Smith at various points during the film.
  • Fartillery: Chrissy's flatulence is so loud it triggers a security system.
  • Funny Background Issue: While E! reporter Jules Asner is providing an update on the activities of Jay and Silent Bob, the duo appear correct behind her on camera. Jay then makes all sorts of suggestive gestures at her without her always realizing it.
    • While the filming of Expert Will Hunting 2 is going on, the scenes are shot from the perspective of the cameras in that movie. Jay and Silent Bob, who have been mistaken every bit extras, try to walk off the prepare in the background of the shot while Will has a confrontation with the Ivy League smashing from the start film, but are forced dorsum into position.
  • Fun with Acronyms: The C.50.I.T. - Coalition for Liberation of Afoot Tree-dwellers
    • And the L.A.B.I.A. - Liberate Apes Before Imprisoning Apes. (CLIT is believed to be a violent, extremist adjunct of LABIA.)
  • Adept Angel, Bad Affections: Despite having two shoulder devils, Jay's one shoulder angel is capable of talking him out of dropping his pants in front of Justice. He still promises to beat upward those ii "sucker-punching little bitches."
  • Groin Attack

Jay: Why do they phone call y'all "cockknocker?"

Marker Hamill every bit Cockknocker: Y'know, actually, there's a funny story backside that-hee hee, you're gonna love this, true story— *BOOOM*

  • Accept I Mentioned I Am Heterosexual Today?: Jay.
  • Hero Antagonist: Align Willenholly is merely trying to catch two guys believed to be fugitives.
  • Heroic Cede: Justice giving herself up to clear Jay and Silent Bob'south names.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Well, DUH.
  • I Want You to See an Old Friend of Mine: Averted.
    • Not only practise Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher have seperate cameos, but they weren't enlightened the other was in the film until they saw it.
    • Eliza Dushku and Marc Blucas were both in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (admitting in one Ii-Function Episode), just don't accept any scenes.
  • Instant Soprano: Jay'southward vox after being punched in the groin by Cockknocker.
  • The Internet Is for Porn ...And For Bitching Most Movies. Roger Ebert even said in his review that this was "a much more sophisticated idea of the Net than nosotros find in loftier-tech cyberthrillers, where the Net is a place that makes your computer beep a lot."

Holden: The Internet is a communication tool used the world over where people can come together to bowwow nearly movies and share pornography with ane another.

  • Internet Wiggle: Subverted in that Jay and Bob have never been on the internet before, and have no concept of G.I.F.T or what a Troll is and take the trash talk seriously. They too subvert the hell out of this trope by actually going effectually the country to vanquish the crap out of all the bratty kids who insulted them.
  • Jurisdiction Friction: Willenholly is constantly barging onto major criminal offense scenes shouting about how he has the jurisdiction because animals were somehow involved, which falls nether his remit equally a Federal Wildlife Marshal. This causes resentment from the local authorities... less considering of the jurisdiction tension than the fact that he'due south a complete idiot.
  • Lampshade Hanging

Chrissy: "We're walking, talking, bad girl clichés!"

  • Laser Hallway: The jewel thieves make their way through a light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation hallway using various different acrobatics (each trying to upstage the final). They're foiled nonetheless when Chrissy lets one rip through her Spy Catsuit every bit a result of eating fast food. This sets off the audio detection alarm.
  • Lawyer-Friendly Cameo: Those dainty people and their dog in the big greenish van look awfully familiar...
    • When biking through the Miramax lot, Jay and Silent Bob bike through Daredevil and a group of Mitt ninjas.
  • Lighter and Softer: After the exhaustive experience of both creating and dealing with the religious backlash from Dogma, Kevin Smith sought to brand a controversy-free feel-good comedy with this film. The result: backlash from LGBT activists for all of the gay jokes.
  • Malcolm Xerox: Chaka Luther Male monarch (Chris Rock) equally the Bluntman & Chronic manager.
  • Meaningful Name: As it turns out, Align Willenholly.
  • Meganekko: Justice; in fact, information technology was Shannon Elizabeth's idea for the grapheme to wear glasses ("Justice is blind").
  • A Minor Kidroduction: The kickoff scene in the moving picture is Jay & Silent Bob, as babies, having their strollers parked side by side to each other while their mothers run into the convenience store.
  • Money, Dear Boy: In-Universe.
    • Gus Van Sant, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reasoning for doing Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season, and specially Van Sant who is seen counting his stash of coin while not directing.
    • As is Wes Chicken during the Scream scene.
  • Motor Mouth: Unlike Bob, Jay never shuts up.
  • Mythology Gag: A subtle one has Jay wearing a Berserker shirt.
  • New Media Are Evil: At to the lowest degree to Jay and Silent Bob, who are quite upset with the Net in general when they learn what people are saying about them.
    • They get their revenge at the cease of the movie; they use coin earned from likeness rights for Bluntman and Chronic to travel the country and beat upward the people who badmouthed them. Randal mentions to Dante his idea to renew the restraining order so he tin write a bad review on the movie without having to worry most this.
  • Noodle Incident: When the guard tells Silent Bob, "and then after, I want y'all to say 'Oh, what a lovely tea party.'"
    • "Oh What a Lovely Tea Party" was also the name of the documentary virtually this film.
  • Odd Name Out: Sissy, Missy, Chrissy, and Justice. Subsequently on, later on Justice'south Heel–Confront Turn, one of the others says she knew something was upwardly because Justice didn't fit the rhyme scheme. (At 1 point, they make an attempt with Jessy, but...)
  • Ominous Latin Chanting: After the van explodes and Jay cries out JUSTICE to the sky, the chanting says "Justice is dead! Or so Jay thinks!"
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Jason Biggs:

"Information technology'due south never 'Oh you were keen in Loser.' It'southward always the fucking pie! I'grand haunted past it!"

  • I for the Money; 1 for the Art: In-Universe; mentioned past Ben Affleck - "What've I been telling you? Yous gotta do the rubber motion-picture show. Then y'all can practice the art picture. Only and so sometimes you gotta do the payback picture because your friend says you owe him." [Bated Glance]
  • Ping-Pong Naïveté: In Strike Back, Jay is confounded by the fact that yous need a ticket to ride a cross-country Greyhound bus. Just at the end of Chasing Amy (chronologically before), they have a double-decker to Illinois, and Jay makes direct reference to the tickets in Silent Bob's pocket. Must take been the weed.
    • This was more than of a bad cut (for time) than annihilation. The original scene would have had Jay and Silent Bob getting on the bus and riding in it for awhile before it's discovered that they're in the bathroom smoking a blunt (which is a reference to the Chasing Dogma comic book). The passenger vehicle drops them off on the side of the route, where they meet George Carlin'southward hitchhiker graphic symbol.
  • Pizza Boy Special Delivery
  • Pre-Asskicking 1-Liner: Justice, when she finally decides to exercise the right thing and face Sissy:

Telephone call me Boo Boo Kitty Fuck, bitch!

  • Precision F-Strike: From Silent Bob, believe it or non.
  • Punny Name: Volition Ferrell's character, Marshall Willenholly.
    • Unintentionally referential, seeing the flick Volition Ferrell stars in later on on...
      • Whether or not this is Hilarious in Hindsight or a "Funny Aneurysm" Moment depends on each viewer.
    • From a deleted scene, FBI agent Sidan Marty.
  • Raging Stiffie: Jay'southward reaction at first seeing Justice. Complete with soundtrack!
  • Refuge in Brazenness: Think almost it: who doesn't this motion-picture show endeavor to offend?
  • Running Gag: "Boo Boo Kitty Fuck," the C.Fifty.I.T, people calling Jay a little kid, Jay telling people Silent Bob will suck their dicks.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Hither!: When the shootout begins on the Bluntman and Chronic set, Chaka says "Crazy crackers with guns? Time for me to become my black ass outta here!"
  • Self-Plagiarism: Jay's line, "What's with the knife, are we having block or something?", was originally written for the train scene in Dogma.
  • Series Fauxnale: Was meant to exist the finale to the View Askewed-poetry. But then Kevin got inspired to make Clerks Two. And now Mallrats 2!
  • Self-Deprecation: There's a running gag of characters giving the photographic camera an Aside Glance after mentioning how dumb the premise of the movie is.
  • Shout-Out: Over again, plenty of them, usually working in tandem with The Cameos.
    • Here's an example of one of the less subtle ones:

Preppy Student: You're no longer the aroused young mind you once were. Y'all're merely no longer that expert... Volition Hunting.

    • The guard at Miramax studios calls to Echo Base of operations on his walkie-talkie.
    • The movie poster for Bluntman and Chronic has a similar design and title font to Batman: The Blithe Serial.
    • When Marking Hamill says "Don't fuck with a Jedi chief, son!" and gets his hand cutting off...again. As well, bong sabers. And the tone of his voice is the same as the Joker.
    • The confrontation in the dam pipe is direct out of The Fugitive, as is the reference to Provasik/c.
    • Jay's tirade about "supermonkeys" ends up condign 1 to Planet of the Apes (1968), complete with the "Y'all maniacs!" scene.
  • The Silent Bob: Take a wild guess.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Infant Jay'due south outset discussion is "fuck", if that tells you lot anything about the kind of person he grows up into.
    • That and the fact that his mom was such a cheap whore. He learned the word from her, anyway.
  • Skyward Scream: When Jay thinks Justice was killed in the exploding van.
  • Spy Catsuit: A quartet of jewel thieves posing as animal rights activists vesture these to steal diamonds while the eponymous heroes are duped into freeing animals from the lab next door as a diversion. Besides parodied, in that the initial introduction to the accommodate-clad thieves is them explicitly showing themselves off to the camera with overblown, deadline ridiculous body poses to acknowledge how blatant the creators know the Fanservice is.
  • Stealth Pun: Shannon Elizabeth insisted on wearing glasses because "Justice is blind!"
    • Also, afterwards the van blows up Jay "cries for Justice."
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Every bit Banky tells Jay and Silent Bob, shutting downwards the moving-picture show's production won't stop people from trolling them (or rather, their comic book counterparts) on the cyberspace.
  • Accept That!: Holden suggests that idea of a Bluntman and Chronic film is...
  • Have That, Audition!: Holden: "...a Jay and Silent Bob picture show? Feature length? Who'd pay to see that?" Jay, Bob, and Holden then glance aside at the audition.
  • Take That, Critics!: Played for Laughs with the final montage of Jay & Silent Bob beating upwardly the people who poo-pooed them on the Internet.
  • Take Your Time: Much is made of the "3 days" that they have to make it to Los Angeles to stop the movie's production. New Jersey to Los Angeles in iii days would be a brutal drive under normal circumstances, allow lonely all the hitchiking and adventures. Then that plot point is dropped about halfway through.
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bowwow!: Several times, nigh notably: "call me Boo Boo Kitty Fuck, bitch!"
  • Unnecessary Combat Curl: When Willenholly arrives at the movie studio, he takes the time to ringlet over the hood of his auto (really clumsily) before inbound the studio to arrest Jay and Silent Bob. Jay too does one in the parking lot of the animal facility during their infiltration scene.
  • Unusual Euphemism: When Justice tells Jay that women don't similar to exist called bitches, and she asks him to call her something nice:

Jay: How about "Boo Boo Kitty Fuck"?

    Justice: That's...a first.

  • Vitriolic Best Buds: The eponymous characters are best friends and have been since childhood, but Jay insults Silent Bob basically constantly and Bob is e'er giving Jay looks of disapproval.
    • Bob's eventual snap and tirade against Jay comes off as an expression of the frustration he'south been wanting to vent for years.
  • Weird Trade Union: The Drug Dealers local.
  • Who Would Desire to Watch Us?: In improver to the page quote, Alyssa doesn't think anyone would be interested in a motion picture version of Chasing Amy, which is Smith's near critically-acclaimed motion-picture show.
  • WTH, Casting Bureau?: In-Universe, on the Bluntman and Chronic movie. Dante is not happy that he'south existence played past Judi Dench.

What the fuck you think it ways? It ways I'm joking.
